Music Ministry

KUMC would like to welcome Cindy Torry to our church and for sharing her talents as our new pianist. Ms. Torry is an experienced piano stylist of 30 years. For almost 10 years, she has worked with brides and non-profit organizations to develop and provide personalized musical programs on piano for their wedding ceremonies, cocktail receptions, and special events. She has also served as a piano accompanist for the Mahwah Ramapo Ridge School and Mahwah High School concert choirs, as well as an interim musical director for the Ramapo Reformed Church in Mahwah, NJ.

Music has long been a major element of the Kinnelon United Methodst Church. In 2001, our choir recorded, produced, and distributed a CD as a church fund raiser. The music selected included standard hymans, such as "He's Everything to Me," "How Great Thou Art," and "Rock of Ages." It also included "Amazing Grace" which was played on the piano by the wife of our Pastor at the time. This is heard on our home page. The CD also included spiritual selections lesser known to the main stream Methodist choirs. Not only did the experience prove te be financially rewarding, but the process of rehearsals and recording strngthened the Christian bond among the members involved.
