Outreach
The Kinnelon United Methodst Church has been involved with the Angel
Connection AIDS Counselling Center in Morristown; Youth Haven and Save Our Sisters in Paterson. We have had food drives
for the Center for Food Action in Ringwood.

In order to do valid outreach,
we need a healthy exchange of dialogue, which is necessary for building interpersonal relationships as well as exciting
ideas. Once the ideas have been brainstormed, the next step is to draft a vision; regardless of whether the vision will
become a reality, we are robotics rather than humans if we do not strive for a global healing through community
outreach. As you know, we have done outreach recently through our contributions to the Thanksgiving food baskets and the gift drive we did for The Angel Connection at Christmas time. Although our efforts were good, we know we can do much
more; however we need to engage dialogue to determine where our energy should be directed, near and far. From
experience, I have learned that having a shared vision makes us advocates of connectedness in our desire to do community outreach. I realize that even if we cannot solve the world's problems, if we do not at least propose our vision for
helping and healing, then we are wasting the energy and ability God has given us. We are empowered by the Holy Spirit,
and if we opt to ignore our mission in brotherhood rather than at least attempt to reach our dreams, then we are merely acting as members of a living-dead society. We need vision, and we need hope. Your input will be greatly
appreciated!
